SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & 'D' Recruitment

Pay Scale:

The Staff Selection Commission will conduct an open examination for recruitment to the posts of Constable (GD) in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NIA and SSF and Rifleman in Assam Rifles as per the Recruitment Scheme formulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs and as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Staff Selection Commission.

Written Examination: The Commission will conduct written examination of candidates qualified in PST/ PET in both online and off-line mode. The candidates will have to opt for On-line or Off-line mode of Examination in the application form. Though the Commission will endeavour to accommodate the candidates in centres opted by him/ her, it may combine the centres or divert the candidates to other centres, depending on administrative convenience. The written examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks.


Mode of Payment: The candidates submitting their applications on-line should pay the requisite fee only through State Bank of India either in the form of challan or online payment through SBI Challan/ Net Banking/ Credit and Debit cards.

The Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2014 for recruitment to the Group-“C” posts of Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk.
Vacancies/Reservation: Tentative vacancies for the post of Data Entry Operators and Lower Divisional Clerk are 1006 and 991 respectively.

      1. Nativity:
      A candidate must be either :
      (a) a citizen of India, or
      (b) a subject of Nepal, or
      (c) a subject of Bhutan, or
      (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the Ist January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
      (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
      Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India

      Note: For posts of Assistants(CSS), Computer Proficiency has also been prescribed as an Essential Qualification
      The Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU.

      Exam Scheme: The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:
      • Tier -I - Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
      • Tier -II - Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
      • Tier -III - Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/Document Verification & Descriptive/on-line test of qualifying nature.
      Important: Candidates must carry at least one photo bearing ID Proof in original such as Driving Licence, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity Card issued by University/College, Income Tax Pan Card to the examination center, failing which THEY SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR FOR THE EXAMINATION.

      Note: Women candidates & SC/ST/PH/Ex service men are exempted from paying the exam  fee.

      Exam Fee Payment Mode:
      For Paper or Off-Line Applications: Candidates should pay the fee by means of "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps(CRFS)" only available at all Departmental Post Offices of the country. Recruitment Fee Stamps should be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose and cancelled at the Counter of Post Office of issue with the date stamp of the Issuing Post Office in such a manner that the impression or the cancellation stamps partially overflows on the Application Form itself, taking care at the same time that the impression is clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and Post Office of issue at any subsequent stage

    Selection Procedure:

    The Selection Procedure for the Recruitment of Assistant Grade III in FCI Shall consists of a Written Test.The Details of Written test (Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III) are given as under

    Paper-I : The Paper-I in an Objective Paper of 200 marks that have duration of 2 hours that contains sections such as General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language.Paper-I will be held on 11.11.2012

    Paper-II : The Paper-II is also an Objective Paper of 200 marks with 2 hours of Duration. In Paper-II, the Questions will be asked on Quantitative Methods and English Language & comprehension.Paper-II will be held on 06.1.2013

    Paper-III: Paper-III is only for those candidates who have applied for AG III Technical Posts. The Duration of Paper-III will be hours and Questions will asked on Biological Sciences. Paper-III will be held on 06.1.2013


    For AG-IIII (General, Accounts and Depot Posts): Candidates who have applied for these posts will have to appear only in Paper-I and Paper-II.

    For AG-III (Technical Posts): Candidates who have applied for this Post will have to appear in Paper-I and Paper-II.

    Junior Grade of Indian Information Service (Group B) Examination-2012

    Staff Selection Commission will conduct an All India Open Examination 01/07/2012 for recruitment to the following posts for  Junior Grade of Indian Information Service (Group B) Examination-2012 :
    • Junior Grade of Indian Information Service (Group B) : 134 posts (UR-70, OBC-36, SC-19, ST-9) (PH-5) in different languages in the pay scale of Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200/-, Age : 30 years as on 01/08/2012,  Qualification : Degree of a recognized University or equivalent. (ii) Diploma in Journalism from a recognized University or equivalent. (iii) Direct recruitment to posts in Junior Grade of IIS, Group’B’ shall be made language wise. The candidates must have studied the concerned Indian language up to the Secondary school.

    Fee: Rs. 100/- (No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women and Ex-Serviceman) to be deposited in SBI cash by challan or by Online in SBI.

    Closing Date: Last date for filling of the offline application is 25/05/2012 (5PM), last date is 01/06/2012 for candidates from far-flung areas.

    Staff Selection Commission will hold on 29/07/2012, an examination for recruitment to the following posts:
    • Stenographer Grade-c and Grade-D, Qualification : 12th pass, Age : 18-27 years as on 01/08/2012, Relaxation in age as per rules.,Pay Scale :  PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 grade pay Rs.4600 for Grade-C and PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.2400/- for Grade-D

    Fee: Rs. 100/-. No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women and Ex-Serviceman. Fee will be paid only in the form of "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)" These stamps are available at the counter of all Departmental Post Offices of the country. If you are applying Online, payment can be through Net Banking with SBI.  OR The candidates submitting their applications on-line should pay the requisite fee only through State Bank of India either in the form of challan or net-banking.
